Comments

This mainly underground library has large open spaces, study desks, a reading room and children’s area. Meeting rooms, a computer lab and music room can be hired, all of which are found in the 6-storey tower of the library, which pops out from the plaza. A musical instrument collection, makerspace and gaming collection forms part of the 40,000 items available.

The library provides a range of flexible spaces and is connected to the plaza via a sunken outdoor garden and amphitheatre, used as a place to study, perform or to bring the inside outside with the large multi-fold glass doors.

The library houses a lively tenanted café (Café Noun), the City of Sydney Customer Service Centre, as well as hosting a range of popular programs and events across its versatile space. The library also houses an art installation crafted by library staff in what has become to be known as the rainbow reading room, a popular Instagram opportunity for visitors.
