Comments
We wanted a larger library (600m2 to 1476m2) responding to current/future community needs. The existing library, built in 1965, was too small, did not offer modern needs such as lounge spaces, modern technologies, meeting rooms, gallery, or a Youth area, and was very tired. Users loved the library, so the challenge was to retain that love within the new design.
The provision of an attractive, flexible, and accessible public infrastructure project that encouraged an increase in usage was the aim.
