Comments
This project involved the renovation and expansion of the existing library and community hall within a civic precinct in Dingley Village. The 21st century upgrade includes reorienting previously discretely managed, aged and isolated buildings inwards towards established gum trees and landscaping using sympathetic materials.
The inclusion of a flexible community service lounge with retractable glass walls leading to an expansive deck and kiosk area allows multipurpose use. Informal use of this indoor/outdoor shared-use zone encourages comfortable patronage and provides a seamless connection for community between the Library and co-tenants including Dingley Village Neighbourhood Centre and Maternal & Child Health Services.
